Transition from Australia to Canada – my thoughts after 4 months!

I am nearing the four-month anniversary of my move to Toronto, Canada. It is hard to believe that time has passed so quickly, but even more incredible is how much I have achieved in that time.

  • I have found somewhere to live and have made it a home.
  • I have a job I am thoroughly enjoying and through which I am meeting some amazing people.
  • There are a number of people who I can count on as friends, even though I have known them less than four months.
  • I experienced my first real Canadian Winter. It was phenomenal. I really thrived in the cold and enjoyed the snow so much! I am actually a little disappointed that it will be warming up soon, but I should probably just be excited about the fact that Winter will roll around again later this year… fingers crossed there will be as much snow to enjoy as there was this year!

A lot of my new friends and acquaintances have asked about Australia. They have trouble understanding how I could leave such a beautiful country and after looking through some of my photos, I can see why they would ask that! However, when I look at these photos I can almost feel the heat hitting me in the face – that is the part I never enjoyed and which I am certainly not missing!

For my new Canadian friends, here are some photos from my home country. I am looking forward to discovering more of Canada so I can share similarly exciting photos of what this country has to offer!
