Today I had a 2 hour group lesson and it was great. My instructor was very helpful. Her name was Rachel and she was British. She was an experienced skier and has previously instructed in Austria!
I had trouble deciding which level to go into, however level 3 was the right choice. I am not a pro skier, but I was one of the better skiers in our group of 8 which made the class all the more beneficial. I learnt how to traverse correctly and at the end of the lesson was told to go up to level 4 next time. I will most probably spend tomorrow practicing what we did today, and then book a lesson for Friday.
The attached map shows in green the route we took on our lesson.
After my lesson l took off my ski gear and took the Hirafu Gondola to a restaurant up the mountain. The view was magnificent and I got some brilliant photos of Mt Yotei.
I am not yet confident enough to ski the runs down from it, so took the gondola back down afterwards.
